What ages and grades do you serve?

We serve students from one year of age through twelfth grade. We have three campus locations for preschool students. Admission requirements vary depending on a student's age or grade level. Our school is divided into four departments: Preschool - ages one to four; Elementary - kindergarten through fifth grade; Middle School - sixth through eighth; and High School - ninth through twelfth grade. Information for each individual department is available. How often do students receive religious instruction?

The Bible is the focal point of our curriculum.  Teaching the principles of God's Word permeates daily instruction in all subjects.  All students attend chapel one day each week.  Chapel programs include praise and worship through song, Bible lessons, and messages brought from area pastors and Christian leaders. Chapel also provides opportunities for students to be involved by presenting special music, personal testimonies, and dramatic performance.

 

Is Financial Aid Available?

Yes, our Tuition Assistance Plan (TAP) is available to all families based on financial need.  HCA has partnered with FACTS Tuition Management to determine the extent of financial need.

 

Is the school accredited?

Hendersonville Christian Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) which serves as an accreditation division of AdvancED. The world's largest education community, AdvancED represents 27,000 public and private schools and districts across the United States and in 65 countries worldwide.

Hendersonville Christian Academy is also accredited by the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools (TACS). TACS was formed to provide Christian schools guidance and educational services which enhance the academic and spiritual credibility of member schools.

 

Do students bring their lunch or can they buy it?

We have a full-service cafeteria.  Students may either bring their lunch to school or buy a hot lunch.  This option is available to students from first grade through high school on a daily basis.  Depending on the option selected, lunch is included in the tuition cost for children in preschool and kindergarten.

 

Are uniforms required for students?

Yes, students in kindergarten through grade twelve are required to wear a uniform each day.  Each of these students must have a uniform for their chapel day and then at least one other uniform outfit for regular school days.  All uniform clothing must be purchased from Parker School Uniforms. One and two year old children do not wear uniforms. Three and four year old students wear a uniform on their scheduled chapel day.

 

Does the school have an athletic program?

Third through twelfth grade students have a variety of athletic opportunities.  Physical education begins in the third grade and continues through high school.  We participate competitively in football, cross country, basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball and we have cheerleading squads. HCA is a member of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) and the Middle Tennessee Athletic Conference (MTAC).

 

What opportunities are available in the fine arts?

Music and art instruction begins in kindergarten and continues for all students through elementary school. Art and music continues in middle school where every student is required to participate in band. High school students may select fine arts courses as electives with a wide variety of opportunities in drama, choir, band, and visual arts. Students in fourth grade through high school participate in the annual TACS State Fine Arts Competition. Several high school students have been awarded national honors at the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS) Fine Arts Competition.
