Hendersonville Christian Academy Athletic Director John Taylor announced the addition of new Head Football Coach Daniel Meek.  Originally from Decatur, AL, Meek has a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies degree from Athens State University and will soon have a Masters of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University. The Alabama native is no stranger to athletics and Christian education. Daniel launched his career in Christian education and coaching at Decatur Heritage Christian Academy in Decatur, Alabama. Daniel was an important component in the growth of the Decatur Heritage football program. The young program was only in its second year when Daniel joined the coaching staff and within five seasons he helped lead DHCA to the state playoffs in 2014 and the state semi-finals in 2015. Coach Meek will be a full-time faculty member at HCA teaching in the Bible department.

HCA Athletic Director John Taylor says, “Coach Meek brings a good deal of football knowledge and experience to the Crusader program. Along with his championship level experience, I am confident Daniel will bring toughness, organization, and a competitive spirit to Crusader football. I am looking forward to working with Coach Meek and helping him challenge our student-athletes. He is going to play a key role in the development of our speed and strength training program as well. The HCA Athletic Department is committed to giving all our athletes an opportunity to reach the next level and I am confident that Daniel is the right man for the job. Coach Meek is ready to build on the foundation and tradition of Crusader football. The quality of Coach Meek’s work goes beyond the field. We believe his commitment to Christian education along with his spiritual maturity, will be a great addition to our school.”

Coach Meek will join the HCA teaching staff in fall 2016. Daniel and his wife, Taylor, are excited about joining the Hendersonville community and the opportunity to be part of the Hendersonville Christian Academy family.

“This opportunity to continue developing the Crusader football program is a challenge I look forward to facing head on. My wife, Taylor, and I are excited to start this chapter in our lives together. I know God has called me here to produce a quality football team, but I also strive to have a positive impact on the students in order to fulfill the mission of Hendersonville Christian Academy. I am looking forward to challenging student-athletes to raise the bar in their lives and following what God has planned for them. Anyone interested in playing football and getting a valuable education needs to check us out. The best days of HCA are right around the corner and I am excited to be a part of it,” Coach Meek said.
